There are two great forces or energies functioning in the human body. They are pranic energy (prana shakthi) and mind energy (manashakthi). Prana, the vital energy is the basis of all other energies such as heat, movements, magnetic field and electricity. Because of mind energy, we are able to think, learn, memorize and have feelings and emotions.

Prana and mind are interconnected. If we purify and control the prana, the mind gets purified and controlled automatically. Similarly, if the mind is purified and controlled prana is also purified and controlled. As human beings, we are endowed with the power and efficiency to control both the energies.

If concentration is directed to the corresponding chakra while performing the asana, the beneficial effects will be increased.

Mental disorders like anxiety, depression, psychotic and neurotic problems and schizophrenia can be treated with regular practice of Chakra meditation. It acts as a natural tranquillizer, helping to keep a serene frame of body and mind.
